The Donald Trump memecoin project has recently provided clarity on the rules of its latest competition, offering participants the chance to attend a private dinner with the former US president.
Announced on April 23, the TRUMP token team revealed that the top 220 holders would be invited to an exclusive dinner scheduled for May 22. Additionally, the top 25 participants would have access to a special VIP reception and a guided tour. Initial estimates suggested that participants would need to hold over $395,000 worth of the TRUMP token to qualify for the event.
However, the project team has since refuted those figures, asserting that contenders do not need to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to be eligible. They have also denied allegations that locked tokens would be released to sway the competition.
In a recent announcement on X, the Trump memecoin team explained that many users had misinterpreted the 220th wallet address on the block explorer as the cutoff point. They clarified that only wallets listed on the official leaderboard, which tracks time-weighted holdings, are eligible for the competition.
At present, the “Sun” wallet holds the top spot on the leaderboard with over 1.17 million TRUMP tokens, valued at approximately $15 million. Meanwhile, the 220th-ranked user, “Moek,” holds 112 TRUMP tokens worth around $1,344.
Despite the excitement surrounding the event, the team has emphasized that President Trump’s attendance at the gala dinner is not guaranteed. As stated in the event terms, Trump may not be able to attend for various reasons, leading to the potential cancellation of the dinner.
Should Trump be unable to attend or if the event is called off, eligible participants will receive a limited edition TRUMP NFT as compensation. Overall, the competition remains open to all, with the leaderboard showcasing each participant’s time-weighted holdings.
